HDR tv under 10k

So after lots of reading / watching reviews, the general consensus seems to be that unless you spending big money, hdr tvs are going to be disappointing and are h it and miss depending on what you are watching, which kind of puts me off hdr in my price range.

Game has the 55" skyworth android tv listed at R6999, this seems like a great deal considering the next cheapest I've seen is hifi corp at R8999 and then Takealot. It also has an 8ms response time so it ticks the gaming box.

I'll go have a look at it today and see how the picture looks.

Thanks for all the input.

And input lag?

So I had a look at the Skyworth today, unfortunately they were playing sabc 1 on all the TV's so the comparisons were pointless. I did however play a random "4k" youtube video on it and it looked pretty good. I then played the same video on a hisense 55u7a, the hisense definitely looked better (more vivid) however it costs R4000 more.

At R6999 for the 55" Skyworth I can't see anything that beats it (at that price) I'll probably go with this one, most of the reviews I've read say that once the image settings have been tuned it looks really good.

On a side note the skyworth was still advertised in Game at R9999 no one in the shop knew that it was R6999 until they checked on the system.

Thanks for all the input.

Hi how did the purchase go if I may ask? Are you satisfied with the panel for gaming? 8ms is quite low for a large panel such as this. I'll be checking it out tomorrow at Game as well

And is it the 55G6A11T model for R6999?

I purchased it today but am only taking delivery end of march as I'm moving to a new place. I landed up purchasing it from hifi corp who matched games price.

Awesome thanks! Going to pick up one
The game store I went to today still had it advertised for R9999. However online and on there system it's listed for R6999.

The guy I dealt with at hificorp said the cost price is R8500, he couldn't understand how they could be selling it for R6999.
