I really feel that those that dont know shouldnt write articles.

South Africa is a PAL TV region and this means that our Tv has 576 lines of resolution.

The States is an NTSC region, and they have 480 lines of resolution.

480 to 720 sounds more impressive than 576 to 720.

EU standard for broadcast HD is 720P, so this is all we will be getting from DSTV.

These is no single EU standard resolution for HD broadcast... in the same way as there isn't one in the USA. SkyHD in the UK broadcasts 1080i, for example.

The reason that we will get 720p (at first, there is no reason that this can not change in the future) is about bandwidth efficiency - 720p uses less bandwidth than 1080i or 1080p. For DSTV, this means that it is easier to allocate spectrum and to secure bandwidth on the satellite.

dstv will launch a HD cahnnel which you'll have to pay extra for!!

What is your source? All the info that I've heard points to the fact that it will not cost extra.

So if I am getting 32inch LCD which runs at 13xx * 7xx resolution, it will be able to handel the future HD tv broadcasting (not talking about blue disc or 1080p HD)? Need a tv box or something with the new digital signal and HD broadcasting I assumed.

If you get a 32" set @ 1366 x 768, as long as it has an HDMI input (and supports HDCP) you will be ready for HDTV.

I saw both the LG and Samsung that GAME had on special for R5999 have got HDMI.

I'm not totally fluent in this particular language but isn't your greater risk that it is not HDCP compliant? Are there 30"+ sets in this day and age that don't have HDMI inputs? Of course, not being knowledgeable it could easily be the case the same could be asked about HDCP support.
