Back home...
So I took ownership of a new 2011 X-Trail today and after driving to my in-laws and back tonight I noticed that there was some condensation inside both headlights.

Now I've had a couple of new cars before and I never noticed it before so I don't assume it normal.

Has anyone experienced something similar or should I just call the dealer tomorrow and have them try and fix it?

Fix... those lights cost a fortune to replace... infact, with the CPA you might be able to ask for another one.

Ok, will see if I can't stop at the dealer on the way to work then tomorrow or call them from the office and take it up with them.

Same problem here, headlights aren't sealed properly, they have to fix it

This is a common problem on Opel Corsa/Astras. My left side started fogging due to the rubber seal covering the globe wiring falling off. I wonder if it's possible to remove the globe and use an air compressor to get rid of the dampness inside.

Called the dealership, taking the car back tomorrow to hear what they say, initial indication is that it could be because of the high preasure system they use when they initially clean the cars.

Still want it fixed though, was thinking that I should go drive around again tonight, see if it happens again and take photos to show them.

Thats possible, and BS - they should know how to wash their cars properly - to reseal the headlight they'll probably have to remove it, crack it open, replace the seal... then put back.

At a car wash I tell the guy exactly where he can and can't spray my S2000.

It varies from car to car, depending on whether the entire headlight is meant to be sealed air-tight or not. If it clears by itself overnight I wouldn't be too concerned, although it does admittedly look a little crappy.

unacceptable on a new car
take pics and ask for the headlight to be replaced
