Hey all,

So i am currently trying to a achieve a goal of fat loss (and a bit of muscle build). I've come a long way. 2 years ago I was 120 kg, now I am 72kg.

There are some areas where stubborn fat is still on my body that I really want to get rid of.

In terms of training, I think i do great. I work out 4-5 times a week hitting every body part, i do sprints for cardio based workouts and swimming. Weighted training is not really heavy, but normally consists of supersets/circuts with timed rest (45 seconds) between rests. I am really good with body weight workouts as well (pushups, pullups, dips, etc) and every workout consists of abs as well.

Thing is, as much as training is great, my diet is starting to suffer. Mainly at work. My job is quite demanding and does not leave me with a lot of time, so buying snacks and lunch for work is the best option for me.

Thing is, what foods can I actually buy to keep me full at work and help get rid of this annoying stubborn fat and where can I buy them?

Google how to make banana ice cream. Lots of healthy options to make.
It will change your life :)

Nuts (Like almonds and walnuts)
Cheese
Veggie Sticks
Biltong
Boiled eggs
Lots and lots of water
Avocado
Green juices

120 - 72 !! Well done.
For snacking I found carrots are great.
Biltong but not droe-wors.
Eggs are super high in cholesterol.

Cut out sugar, and cut down on the carbs.
Snack on fresh fruit, biltong and nuts. If you are hungry, eat a meal.
Biggest meal must be lunch & breakfast.
Don't eat 2-3h before you go to bed, rather skip dinner then.

All of the above.
Besides banana ice cream.....
Ice cream?
Seriously?
Will have to google this and find out

That's almost a 50Kg reduction.

Son, I am proud.

Well done on your weight loss.

Rather cook in bulk, and split your meals into 6 small ones.
So instead of eating a snack, eat a small meal.

Please don't skip dinner, because you are working out, and gaining muscle is one of your goals - your body needs to stay in an anabolic state. Nice article about it here - http://www.fitday.com/fitness-articles/fitness/body-building/what-is-an-anabolic-state.html

Getting rid of that last bit of fat is the toughest, you'll need to be in a caloric deficit, but only just.

Eggs are super high in cholesterol.

Common recommendations include a maximum of 2-6 yolks per week. However, there really isn’t much scientific support for these limitations (5).

Luckily, we do have a number of excellent studies that can put our minds at ease.

In these studies, people are split into two groups… one group eats several (1-3) whole eggs per day, the other group eats something else (like egg substitutes) instead. Then the researchers follow the people for a number of weeks/months.

These studies show that:
•In almost all cases, HDL (the “good”) cholesterol goes up (6, 7, 8).

•Total and LDL cholesterol levels usually don’t change, but sometimes they increase slightly (9, 10, 11, 12).

•Eating Omega-3 enriched eggs can lower blood triglycerides, another important risk factor (13, 14).

•Blood levels of carotenoid antioxidants like Lutein and Zeaxanthine increase significantly (15, 16, 17).

It appears that the response to whole egg consumption depends on the individual.

In 70% of people, it has no effect on Total or LDL cholesterol. However, in 30% of people (termed “hyper responders”), these numbers do go up slightly (18).

The more cholesterol you consume the less the liver produces.

I snack on carrots, get the thin ones from fruit and veg they the sweetest.

And the general if its made in a factory don't eat it, if it's made by mother nature eat in moderation.

Slimming down for beach time in a weeks time Iv managed to lose 5kg in 3 weeks so far.

I work above a Fruit and Veg, so most of my snacking is fruit, nuts and raisins, and I've recently discovered plain yoghurt with some dried cranberries chucked in (I buy a bag of dried cranberries and chuck them in, it's not available on the shelf). That tiny bit of sweetness really helps since I don't like the taste of plain yoghurt, and the ones with flavourants added tend to have a fair amount of sugar.

Oooo .... I did a bit of reading on Egg's and myBB has taught me another lesson. Egg's not so bad afterall unless you're diabetic.

I really like:

2 tsp flax seeds ground up (in a coffee grinder)
Some nuts / seeds (usually almond, sunflower, pumpkin, sesame) soaked overnight
cocoa & carob powder
salt
pinch of stevia powder
optional chopped up date or raisins
optional nut butter (macadamia nut butter nice and runny)
optional spices - cinnamon, ginger, turmeric, cayenne pepper

Mix that all up then add about two Tbsp melted coconut oil, mix well and stick in the fridge. As it cools it'll set.

Aww man you guys/girls are awesome!

I started my fat loss goals due to health problems and juat started loving it so much that I just kept doing it!

As for what you guys mentioned, i had a quick look at what you guys mentioned and bought the following so far:
Almonds (raw)
Some Carrots (this keeps me pretty satisfied for a while)
Sunflower seeds
Fruits for good sugars
Some green tea.

Still have some questions though:

Is black coffee (caffeinated, no sugar) good? And is there anywhere I can go to get ky body fat % and BMI done so I can track my macros properly for my deficite?
