They sell a thermal activated switch that kicks in to supply the shower/bath with heated water from the gas geyser at whatever temp you specify. So it sits idle until the water from the geyser hits your temp which would happen whenever the solar wasnt enough to heat from the tubes, inverter or controller OR when too much hot water was used.. They have thought about this stuff already. But a good idea nonetheless.In theory you could add some stop taps

Ball valve on each to kill any flow through gas geyser , since it will radiate heat if not heating
So when you want to use it open valves on glands , and fire it up

@wingnut771. See the complications with 2. Now imagine 3I bought my place with a heat pump. 7kw or something, I think. The fscking thing never worked properly, so I just used the geysers as is and switched off the heat pump at the isolator. I have 2 x 200L geysers. The temps were never high enough with the heat pump.
In 2021/2022 I got solar. And I connected the whole house on the essential side.
They 2 geysers run staggered during the day off the solar, never at the same time.
I suspect my geysers are connected in series. Not sure. The plumbing of this place was a clusterfsck.
So people tune me, why do I run both geysers if I live alone? The problem is, if I switch either one off, the water is not hot enough.
Not sure if I should investigate this again. The current heat pump that is sitting idle also looks pretty fscked with corrosion etc.
The BIGGEST issue is that there is fokolll space in the roof to inspect the installation and connection of geysers properly. The kunts installed the geysers, then fitted the roof sheeting. Best of all is that these 2 geysers are mounted above the master bedroom bed in the ceiling.
When these geyers go pop I will replace them on the outside wall.
