Heaters

Another thing, I would rather buy a free standing unit and put it somewhere else and keep that for a braai but if you must or really want to just get a builder to build it in neatly with extra bricks.

I think you would still need some flue up the chimney as it helps with the burning etc.

The problem is that I have an attic, so I cannot run that through the attic floor, which happens to be wood as well; unless I have the pipe into the wall.

They break through the wall and run the flue up on the outside, same as they would do if you lived in a flat on the bottom floor.

A volcano. Or a Knysna wildfire.

Too soon?

:crylaugh:

Sweet Jesus thats expensive and its stainless steel and not cast iron so you run a high risk of the steel bending if its too hot.

I cant see what the heat output is but you can get a genuine cast iron one for R10k cheaper

You need to hook me up with your contact. :)
I have a wooden floor as well. Will they cater for that??

I'm in Wellington. My floor setup is not the same. I have an Oregon Pine floor, and below the floor is probably a 1 meter space until it reaches the actual ground.

Contact Thermo Fires, they are in Stikland and The fireplace company in Durbanville and see what their prices are like. Thermo Fires sells the products (Invincible fireplaces) of The fireplace company but their prices are good.

If you do decide to buy one let me know and I will give you the details of the guy that installed mine, he also services mine yearly.

Nice, where, what, performance, price etc pls
Sorry guys didn't see the reply, it's a bosca limit 380, bought from builders. Usually goes for +-11k. I think it's about 9 or 10kw.

Bosca and amesti are made in Chile and similar in quality/performance from what I can remember from reading on the web.

My place is so nice and warm now with the gas panel heater running.

Does anyone ever use more than a single panel on those triple panel heaters? Seems like a waste of gas.

I plan on scheming my wall with creedstone before I install the combustion fireplace.
Will the heat from the combustion fireplace crack the creedstone? This wall is where the fireplace is going to be installed.

The cretestone on my wall came loose as a result of the heat. I suggest you put slate tiles or something similar on the wall where excessive heat will be experienced.

Thanks, I will install this thing then build around it. I was thinking of doing all the necessary stuff before installing it but I see that I would've made a costly mistake.
