This baby will fit on my ATI 4870 and I'd like to pop one on my card. My question to you guys is..

You can mount this thing either way around (with case standing upright), pointing towards the ground, or "wrapped around" the card pointing up.

So which way will work better with the heatpipe technology??

Does it make a difference at all??

Thermalright HR-03 GT vga cooler - double sided copper base ( for front or reverse cool ) , ( SLi/Crossfire will require front + reverse cool ) , aluminum fin with 6 heatpipes , with memory heatsink ; fanless design ; support optional 80/92mm fan , 410g - support upto nvidia 9800GTX / Ati x1900 / ATi HD4870

Follow the instructions printed on the box/leaflet?

Shouldn't matter.

it says you can mount either way around, but Im reading conflicting reports on the internet... and Im also trying to understand the tech properly! :)

Just wondering if people here have personal experiences with thermalright?

You better have extremely good airflow in your case if you're going to attempt passive..
Let us know what your temps look like..

Thermalright is pretty good. Doesn't really matter how you mount it. Just do it very carefully and properly (disclaimer: not my fault!)
Though, I prefer not to mount hardware - women are more my style.

I had a Radeon X800 that had a gigabyte passive cooler. Performed very well in a case with only 1 side fan...

;)
