Hell Bent On Change

The government / DoC have 'cried wolf' to many times.

1 November will just highlight all their empty 'Hell Bent On Change' comments and make people ask for better or for worse actually. The answer, clearly being the latter of the two.

If you're going mad, then count me in too. This "strategy" by the Government is a farce.

I'd really like VANS operators who would like self-provision to apply for a license and then see if Poison Ivy will get up to her tricks again. If she sidesteps what the DG has just said, then we'll know for sure the Doc has gone bonkers. If Poison Ivy does allow this self-provision to occur... well, the DoC is still bonkers in my book :D
 
haha.. wait that means isp's/vans will beable to do everything if unbundling goes ahead except international bandwidth which must still be sorted. hey single pric dsl :D
 
If there is one thing I have learnt with Government is, and thats the fact that things work at a snail pace. There is soo much red tape, burocracy (however you spell that), and Big Heads due to the authority they have at hand.

I have been dealing with the Department of Justice for the past 18 months now and I am just "gatvol". Its no different in any other GVT org. They all think they know it all.

In all honesty GVT officials, ministers and whoever is inovled can steal, lie, rape, cheat, murder, dress up as drag queens for all I care... BUT PLEASE DO YOUR FU**ING JOBS!!!!! that you were bloody appointed for. Dont feed us with nonsense and bulls*** about this being done and that being done.

Even before the liberalisation Telkom layed of staff to make more profit. But being the monopoly there were no competition to snap up those people.
 
And when they retrenched all those people, government didn't say a word. They just smiled as they watched the share price increase.

Yeah and she forgot TELKOM is to retrench more soon, but that is oK so much for their successfull achievement. She stated the protection was to protect jobs????????????? Now what
 
Why hasn't this department been shown on Special Assignment yet??? Cause its obvious that it's in a crisis.

Imagine Poison Ivy having to answer the very same questions as was asked in this interview... I'm sure the Government would die of shame from her responses. If only.

Well maybe if the country wasnt being raped so badly by Telkoms high prices there would be more money available to build all those hospitals and schools that we need...

As I said before, what worries me is that the Government seems happy enough to receive direct cash from its shares in Telkom rather than lowering telecoms costs in this country and hence indirectly benefitting from a more robust economy. The billions they have been getting from Telkom seem to have gone to their heads. It's sheer short-sightedness.

Spot on mozez. It's a typical case of "penny-wise, pound-foolish". Are they so ignorant and short-sighted that they can't see that stimulating small business development will reap far greater rewards in terms of economic growth, tax income, etc, than the comparably miserable dividends they get now from Telscum!?!?

They don't have to dig, they have an endless supply on hand. Sadly government being populated by morons is not unique to our country. These dimwits get hefty salaries and yet are not expected to demonstrate any real competence. They're leeches. Unfortunately the private sector is often no better with incompetent CEOs walking from job to job, collecting huge salaries and bonuses, leaving a mess wherever they go.
