HellGate: London

There is some leak in the engine, it eats up ones memory, I also start the game out fine, maxed out. C2D 6600 @ 3Ghz , 8800 GTS 640, 2 Gigs ram, and at points I also get crawls of 4fps. If it does not have problems like this maxing out U3, MOHAA, Crysis (almost) then it is a problem with the engine.

On another note, is anyone else finding the game super super super easy? I remember sitting on the edge of my seat with Diablo and Diablo 2, wanting to push a little deeper into an area, knowing that if I do I will probably get killed but who knows I might be able to pull it off. Right now I am a summoner, dual wielding, I run in any place and pretty much farm everything there.

I am at the part where one meets the Seer or woman, I am level 9 I think and its piss, where is the challenge here? Or is it just me?

I've noticed the leaks, yeah. Hasn't really slowed me down yet, though?

And it depends on what character you're playing, the Blademaster seems to have an easier time than an Evoker (in my experience)

no major issues here. runs smooth and average RSA latency, but i see some of the beta bugs remains which i am sure they will sort out as with any new launched game.

Seems theres a patch out already ?

Patch 0

Could someone log in and post the details here please :)

Just got hold of this last night. First impressions are (single player only):

1) Pretty
2) Easy
3) A bit linear but I accepted that as it is based within a city (Get this quest, go through that door to do quest, complete Q, go back, get reward, another do opens).
4) Once mobs in area are dead, the area is dead.
5) I like the mods feature

But I have only started the game and have only reached lvl 7. I also haven't try exiting the game and restarting to see if the mobs have respawned.

I think the developers have shot themselves in the foot with no LAN option as I would have bought my son (yes I am old) a copy as well.

My lil 3.0ghz P4 with x700pro (1gig xms ddr ram) does struggle a bit with poor frame rates and I did notice that when I quit the game my pc was slow.

dammit it feels as if every1 has tried this game except me:(:(:(
I hate u all;)

The game gets harder. I'm lvl 21 now and there have been a couple of parts where I've died quite a bit.

yar after lvl 10 its a whole new game... (and mobs will respawn (@ least in mp) after you are out of an area for 10min.

I figured out why my system is lagging :(

Realplayer + IE = haxxed pc :(

anyhow

I just got to pinccetta hellgate with a Guardian class... I must say running in head first to 8 of those demon spawn = 1 dead fishy :(

Now can someone explain to me how this random levels work? Is it time based and the demons respawn? or when you use the recall teleporter they respawn?

It is so so sad, on the official forms it is a well voiced opinion that not having LAN is no problem at all since why would anyone want to lug their pc around when ultra high speed broadband is in any normal persons house. They talk of Lan playing as so "1990's" lol we are in Africa, oh yea baby.

The game gets a bit diffycult later on. Especially the "Milennium Battle" so dont worry about it being too easy. Your big problem will be the elemental damage. Fire, Poison and Electric can hurt you allot.

The memory leak is irritating but not too bad. Had the same problem with fps dropping for no reason but taking your specs down a level or two seems to sort that out.

The one big problem I have is that if you meet a character outside a station or receive a video message and you are talking to him you can still be attacked by the bloody monsters. So you have to stop the message kill the bloddy thing and then go through the whole thing again.

I can confirm that it does no such thing. It does not fix the leak at all, It feels a little better but it is still very very much there.

On another note, I would like to roll a new character online, would anyone like to get together, kinda like a game buddy, would much prefer playing with an old South African, we can set up team speak and talk **** while we play etc, maybe there are is more than just 1 other person out there who would like to play? Like a little clan, guild thing.

My patching failed somewhere in progress when I tried joining multiplayer...and it fixed most of my slowdowns and the game runs better in general in single player since it replaced some DLLs 'n stuff (I can actually turn the weather on without it crawling). There's supposed to be an even newer patch tonight, will try getting it tomorrow.

I lied, I tried getting it now :p

The launcher let me download a file called LauncherQuickPatcher.exe. This downloaded a new launcher.exe. It then automatically started downloading the patch for the game. It's downloading 27 updated files. I should probably buy an extra prepaid gig this month :(

Hopefully this patch will fix lots of the current issues...I just hope it's downloading the patch that's supposed to be released 8 am PST (3,5 hours ago I think)

you guys getting the leak in XP or Vista - just played 3 hours on my gateway rig (waiting for odd leak/lag) and its smooth except for one time when i entered a station the loading stutterd for few seconds and then was fine.

1G ram, 3.2amd, 9200 ati, XP SP2:
shaders low, shadows low, medium models, medium distance, high texture, 1024x768
no AA, trilinear + Anisotropic filtering on.

-had bit more latency tonight 250m-340ms

hehe not much but still egine was allot more optimized than the beta was

Kaiser Lists Flagship Studios’ Priorities

taken from http://www.hellgateguru.com
We realize many of you are experiencing a variety of problems. We at Flagship and Ping0 are working hard to address these issues. Our current top priorities are:

* Resolving any remaining problems related to billing and subscriptions.
* Fixing two known bugs which cause players to sometimes lose items (one related to dual focus/dual melee, and one related to loading issues).
* Making improvements to memory usage in order to reduce “Memory Exhausted” crashes.
* Fixing a known issue with the user interface which causes the application to lock up intermittently.

* An issue which occasionally prevents characters from being able to load or switch instances.
* General chat interface improvements. (Many improvements are in the works).
* Random disconnects and lag.
* Allowing higher resolution textures and models for other players.
* Various known problems with being able to continue interrupted side quests.
* Remnant quest items not getting destroyed and “clogging” up inventory.
* Continued problems with saving / loading Engineer Drone items.
* Invisible party members.
* The nanoforge not correctly improving rare and better armors.
* Getting stuck on collision.
