saix would never agree to that. Its like them agreeing to make a mini-WOW server. It just wont happen

The only thing we can rely on now is a cracked SA server :p
 
The patch made everything smooth!
Running everything on max except AA on low, 1280x960 and it never drops below 35fps :D
No memory leaks so far!
Was a ~60MB download. Using v1.0's exe crack since I don't enjoy CD swopping :) The exe was also patched but it works with the old one...should update it when a new crack is available for the new version.
 
Mixed emotions

My feelings toward Hellgate are a bit mixed. After waiting two years (at least) to see what the Diablo guys will do with this I must say that I am not that impressed...yet. I am only lvl. 6 atm so I suppose I should reserve judgement. I started playing with a blademaster but the engine really felt crappy IMHO. It felt like playing Morrowind in 3rd person. Don't know if anyone else feels that way? I rerolled a marksman and must admit that the engine feels alot better in first person mode. Can anyone tell me if the area's get bigger at all? Every area I have been to feels so tiny with not enough monsters at all. Let's hear from the guys that are at a decent level.
 
im jamming with 4 others ont he EU server on sat also.

BobMugabe (lvl 6 bladmaster)

no memory leaks here (vista ultimate 32 all patches) ... everything in dx9 on max except AA
 
What connection are you guys playing on (isp also) and what is your ping to the EU server on avrg?

im on gamco 512k uncapped - avrg ping 600 (spikes sometimes to 1000)
 
4mbs, webafrica multi realm unshaped - usually take verizon.

180-350ms. average mostly only 200m-250 or 300-350 depending night to night.
 
The patch for single player has sorted out all the memory leak problems, I now run it maxed out, AA, AF, Dynamic Lights, the works not a single slow down!
 
Got the game yesterday and enjoying it thoroughly! It's like Diablo all over again :)

Have gotta say that I find the ui quite irritating tho.. and ofc a LAN feature would be nice as has been mentioned!

I'm playing on an EU server.. starting with an S.. I can't remember the name atm tho do'h :P

How do I view my latency ingame?

hold down ALT and move ur mouse between the health orb and 1st skill orb.. there are some bars there...hover and read :P
 
I cannot express my anger enough with this patching program. Always on the 23 or 26 or 27th file, the server times out and I have to restart the download from 1.

STUPID PIECE OF **** DOESNT RESUME FROM WHERE IT ENDED!! ARGGGGGGGG
 
Mine downloaded fine, anyways with the new patch everything is running so smooth. I am actually really enjoying this game :)
Highly recommended to anyone who enjoyed diablo :D
 
Please tell me what happens after you downloaded the 27th file? Does it try install them all or does the game go ahead and run?

If it just runs, then could someone please email the mss32.dll file to me please?

I think ive wasted 200 megs today trying to download this over and over and over and over and.... you get the idea
 
is their a manual dl for the patch? any1 link plz...

nvm i got into their forums, they had 2 write a hole manual on how to install the single player patch... :(

Hellgate is pretty good. I'm a level 16 Marksman at the moment. The major irritating thing for me is the very limited storage and inventory space. I never have enough space available to I tend to either sell or disassemble most of the stuff I pick up.

Another thing is that most of the levels tend to be based on the same layout. After playing for a while you'll get to a new area which is very similar to one you previously visited.

Those are the areas based on real places in London afaik. People that know london well enough complain about places that are random...so funny :)

Well I actually meant the supposedly "random" places. One example is the three story houses you get everywhere. Those with the holes in the floor... go up stairs to 2nd level... more stairs to third level. etc.

Also the sewer levels seem to follow the exact same formula with only a variation or two.
