I'm fed up with Telkom's absolute lack of customer service. Oh wait, I received a call from Telkom the day after I applied for my ADSL to find out how the call centre agent did... Told the lady to phone back once the service is activated. I couldn't care less about the lady at the call centre - I WANT SERVICE DELIVERY.

So anyway, I've tried the hellopeter.com route. Will try to keep you guys updated as to Telkom's response.
 
8 Feb. It's not so much that I haven't received it yet (although in all honesty the delay in SA is ridiculous) - I'm far more concerned by Telkom's complete inability to let me know what's going on and when they'll be able to install.

If it's going to take six months I need to make some serious other arrangements.
 
They will contact you the day before they install. The day they install can take anytime from 3 weeks to 12 months.

So don't hold thumbs for a quick install.

Search the forums and see what other poeple have had to go through!

Hellopeter did result in someone getting back to me on each posting I made. It does work.
 
That's all I'm hoping for Mze. Just somebody I can talk to who actually knows what's going on - I've been sucked into that BBH way too long.

Don't count on the person contacting you actually knowing whats going on. I had the same problem, posted on Heelopeter and then to my surprise got a call from a Telkom rep. Only problem this person could also not tell me what was going on. I needed to find out if my area was ADSL enabled, and if so when it would be installed. No one at Telkom could give me answers, not even the PR reps that phoned from my 2 postings on Hellopeter. The techie just pitched up at my house 3 weeks after the posting, luckily I was on leave.
 
Quick update - I posted on Hellopeter on 22-02-2007 and received a reply from Telkom on 23-02-2007 to acknowledge receipt of my complaint. Apart from that I also received a phone call from some Telkom rep over lunch time (and didn't answer) so she left a message acknoweldging receipt of my complaint.

HOWEVER there still has been absolutely zero response to the complaint itself... Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic....
 
the best way to get fast adsl is appl for a whole new line under a company name


companies come first then private ppl
 
I got a call 2 days ago to say that my new telephone line would be installed yesterday. Did not see anyone resembling a Telkom tech yesterday.
