Good morning.
Can one of the networking gurus give me some advice please. Earlier this year, I bought a second-hand Mikrotik switch off of here. The time has finally come to lay proper cabling around the house.

Since I don't have the tech to cut, mix and match fibre cables, I thought that this would work well between rooms, via the roof.

Would these products works together? Basically, Existing Mikrotik RB5009 -> module (linked above) -> cable (linked above) -> SFP Mikrotik switch

No, don't use single mode cable with multi-mode SFP+ modules. Get single mode modules.

And double check that your switch has 10G interfaces (the 5009 has SFP+) before buying. If it doesn't, then 1G SFP modules are what you need.

I already run the RB5009 in a very basic noob setup. :) For now, this is just between the Router and the Switch.

Would this work? If you have reading material, please feel free to share. Doing this as a hobby and to learn.

SFP module compatibility can be tricky.

My suggestion would be to contact Scoop or Uniterm and speak to somebody and tell them what hardware you have and what you want to do and find out if they know which modules would work for you.

This is best and it's what I did as well.

I have those same modules and cable but i've got a MT CCR on one end and Keeplink switch on the other end. Confirmed with both suppliers if the modules are compatible.

You’ve got the right optic here now (duplex(2 fibres), single mode) but the cable you chose is simplex (1 fibre, single mode). You can a) use the simplex cable and choose a single mode bidi sfp (ie rx/tx on the same strand of fibre), or keep the duplex optic and but the cable from your original post

Thank you.
