You wont have a choice. The client will download it if you havent bought it.

The only issue is that because you havnt bought it (i.e you dont have the key) you wont be able to go to Northrend or create a death knight, which isnt really an issue, because you cant create a death knight unless you have an existing lvl 55 character and Northrend is waste of time at your level :)

Buying and installing the Wrath of th Lich King will save you a massive download. Depending on your broadband package and how much of your cap is left, you may need to do this. There is still a download after you install it, but its not nearly as big. Cant remember exactly how big it is.

Ok, I have installed the Burning Crusade expansion pack, now its download a 1.6GB file no idea what it is but it says from 2.4.3 to 3.0.2 TBC enGB OSX Final hope this is the last one, I have been trying to get playing for the last 6 hours and my patience is no wearing thin! :mad:

yup. That's Wrath of the Peach King. There was a little bitty patch after that :)

When that 1.69 gig is done you will have wrath of the lich king on your hard disk. The new continent and the hero class is just locked. All you need is the key. You dont really need the key until you hit lvl 55.

If you do buy the disk, dont install it, just go to the wow website and add the key to your account. I believe you can buy the key without the disk, but I strongly recommend you get the disk though. It will really save you grief if you ever have to reinstall it or you load it on to another pc.

If this is your first toon, I would not use what I'm about to give you. If you do you will miss the story lines and all the fun with leveling a new toon.

Search for "QuestHelper" download the ZIP file and extrat it to your interface/Addons folder in your wow directory. Exit WoW and reload the game client. Now just follow the minimap once you picked up all the quests.

Ok, I am on level 5 now and I have played for hours I don't have a f$#ckin clue what I am doing and I am to damn lazy to read the manual!

That is the problem with a first char :p

You have to actually read the quest given to know where to go and what to do. Quest Helper does that for you, but it does take some of the fun out of the game. The searching and discovering part mostly, which is fun first time round. Also try and join a guild where people can help you and indicate where to go and level when and at what level.

But get QuestHelper if you are really having issues getting around

I have joined quel'thalas need to have a good play around how do I know who the local guys are? I didnt see many people at all when I started like 2 guys running around obviously cause I am starting from the beginning of the story!
 
drew if you create a character on ravenholdt, i could help you with a few quests. Add Solace to your friends, i wont be able to play tonight but possibly later this week.

Take up semaphore on his advice ;)

Best to roll on a server now when your new where you know people who you can even just /w and ask questions if needed. Also the Money and things would be a great boost to begin the game with ;)

Excellent, I am going home tonight to create a new character, do I go Horde? and whats the best character? Pitbull which server are you hanging around on?

Semaphore will add you as a friend online hope to get some much needed advice and guidance!
 
Drew you need to be alliance preferably night elf if possible.

i like night elfs they have nice racial attributes, and they look better than other classes second is human, i would never roll a dwarf or a gnome. I have human,night elf and draeni chars. So either one of those are fine.

Also what class are you thinking of rolling?

Semaphore is Alliance, and I'm Horde.

If you decide to play Alliance, go with him. If you want to play Horde then roll on Spinebreaker (I'm there) Char I'm playing currently is named "Staalbal"

So on or the other, but choose wisely. To make it easier it's like this.

The Alliance areas are nice and Oldage like. Thin castles and what not. It's very very pretty. Horde side, everything is dead and decayed :D

Choose which side you want to play and then just roll a char accordingly.
