Hi

I require some assistance please. I logged into my router (Telkom Mega 105WR) yesterday, to change my account. Each time I do this, the router asks for a new username and password. I always put in the same one, but I must have made a mistake and put in a different one. This morning I tried to log in but couldn't. Please help!! (Router is at home, I'm at the office, and not very technically astute...):(

1. Go Home.
2. Disconnect it.
3. Microwave for exactly 20mins on full power.
4. Throw it in the bin.
5. Go buy a decent router.
6. ..PROFIT???? :D

Thanks, but I thought that if you reset it, you would have to enter all the settings again, i.e. IP addresses, etc... Not technically minded as I said...

No IP address to setup, might just need the Multiplexing Method (which is LLC-Based) and
VPI (8) and VCI (35)

But, it being a Telkom router,it's probably setup for you from the beginning. Resetting it should just make it go back to default, and from what I can guess, you didn't change much or fiddle around at all.

Just change your username/password and you'll be set to go.

Just remember to enable security features on the wireless after you've reset your router, otherwise you're risking other people abusing your ADSL.

ok so i wake up one morning.. to change my internet account and in the middle of everything, my MEGA 105 WR just goes retarded..
Power Light: Red
E1: Green
Wireless: Green
USB: Green and Flashing
DSL: OFF
Internet: Green and Flashing

I phone Telkom, they said "awww if you were still under warranty, we would of gave you a new one. Anyway, you gotta go to your nearest Telkom Outlet and buy a new one"

Here I was thinking, this array of flashing lights must be some sort of error code that can be sorted out. I tried everything, from restarting, bypassing the surge protection, everything, then luckily I had an ancient Billion BiPAC 5200, got to work after much drama but it does not have WLAN.. Any idea whats wrong with the MEGA?

The easiest solution (unless someone who happens to have the same problem comes across this post by accident as you haven't helped yourself by tacking it onto this thread):

find out what the underlying router manufacturer and model is
find a forum for said router
post the question there

Hi gtway
My advise to you is to reset the router, then it will go back to its default settings. You should be able to login to your router with the default username and password.:)

yesterday we had a power failure in the area for a few hours and when the power came back on everything was fine until a power surge or something happened (about 2 sec surge) and i noticed an orange light on my router so called telkom.

after about and half hour to an hour it was still on so they logged a complaint. after a few minutes i unplugged my ethernet hub thingy and replugged it in and everything was fine.

sometimes it's just a matter of unplugging something and then re-plugging it it for it to work.
