Help car mirror

Hey guys need some help,
Have a 2012 Lexus and the left mirror cracked.
I called Lexus and you have to buy the actual housing and mirror in one.
Thats almost 3k.

Do you know anyone that can cut mirror or who sells just the mirror and not the housing?

AFAIK its not a standard mirror. I'd try a few scrap yards first.
 
Last time I needed new mirror glass I just bought from some supplier on ebay UK.
Came in 1/10th the price of the dealer.
 
you can get a mirror cut at most glass companies, bear in mind that the image is totally different on a plain mirror (household mirror). Try places that sell pirate parts, scrapyards and also other Lexus dealerships for the same type of mirror that you have on the car. I had the same issue with nissan, they would only sell completely mirror & housings. I called around and actually found a dealership that could order just the mirror by itself
 
Call these guys that do glass installations and see if they can laser cut a specific shape and thickness.
If yes remove mirror from housing and send to them to create template.

You might have to send to mech to safely disengage mirror from housing.

Yeah don't do that.
My ML had that on the passenger side, it was HORRIBLE.

I wouldn't do that if I were you. For the Caddy bus at work somebody replaced the glass with one that was cut, doesn't look the same at all. All car mirrors are expensive nowadays, you should replace with an original if you can.
 
You can get just the glass. Takes some calling around. These stealerships all want to sell the whole unit, but some will order just the glass for you.
The mirrors you get from the usual glass places are not tinted and driving with the sun behind you becomes an issue.

Hmm I didn't expect you to drive a Lexus.

I expected a bakkie : ranger, amorok, hilux etc.

Considering how many features are incorporated into these mirrors you would expect them to be expensive. Powered, heated and auto dimming and sometimes with integrated indicators.

Glass only... There's no adjustment or indicators in the glass ;) This car is 19 years old...
