Popped into work this morning. Came out to find the lock on the driver side door had been broken (screw driver probably). Looks like they wanted to steal it but were disturbed. Car started fine but have since discovered that

  • central locking via remote does not work (can still lock from inside but obviously useless if you need to leave the car)
  • lights do not work
  • wipers do not work
  • can't open boot (does not look tampered with)
  • indicators don't work
  • electric windows and aircon do work
  • radio/mp3 player works

Think it's possible that a fuse has blown and that is what is affecting the other electrics? I can understand the locking not working.

Or have these stupid thieving !@#$ers caused 10s of thousands of rands of damage

What kind of car is it?

You might find by trying to break the door-lock that they fried a relay or a few fuses...

LOL a Polow has electrical problems...NOW THAT's AN OXYMORON!!!

They would have had a fuse blown if they wanted to steel it.

Just check the fuses. They either do that or they disconnect the battery. The battery is still connected that is why it starts, but they would have popped a fuse by cutting one of the indicator wires and having them short out to blow the fuse.

yeah my bet is on a fuse.

look in the manual where the fuses were, although you should maybe have it checked out cause its possible that is could be a permanent short, which causes your fuses to go.
Its only for the safety of your batter etc.
