Hi all

We are new Neotel clients and have the Data flex service for about 3 months now. I have logged 2 complaints within the first 2 weeks of having the service installed. The call centre first puts the phone down in my Ear before I can even say anything then when I do get through they have on both occasion told me they would contact me back. This never happens at all! I then send a email with my problem and I get a automated response that Neotel received the mail but then two weeks later I get the delete receipt which tells me that whomever got the mail just deleted it and did not even read it. So I sent it again this time with the delete receipt attached and flaming about Why I can not get a response to my problems!

1) This Neoflex Data service is unstable. It does not hold a connection and I constantly get dropped over and over again. I have installed network monitoring tools on my PC’s and have recorded the service data between My Device and the Tower and it is terrible. With outages and packet loss in 2-3 minute intervals. With frequent disconnections over and over again. We have reverted to using out MTN 3G cell phones regularly when this happens.
Link1 Link2 Link3 Link4 Link5 ...these are random charts ...i have many more of these!

2)The occasions that it does work I only achieve speeds which are pathetic! The products was provided as an alternative to DSL(by the NeoNut who sold it to me in Cape Gate!) with a down link rating of 3.1 Mbps and up of 1.8 Mbps. The best performance I have achieved is "LOCALLY" was 0.8 Mbps (Downlink).

3) Billing! Your service was intended to cost me R499 per month. Instead you over bill me!

4) I don’t have any idea what my usage is.. as you don’t provide any Usage meter which every ISP I know provides. According to Neotel my first months usage was 3gigs , I received a notice for the second month that I used 11Gig’s .... Are you people MAD!(hence my writen original complaint) .... this month i get a bill saying i used 42Gigs .... WTF... are they Smoking! This is wrong! and they cant even give me usage reports!

Please take notice that I would like you to CANCEL this service . I thought Telkom was bad but Neotel is 100 times Worse! Please make arrangements to collect your device and cancelled my service. I will be going back to Telkom and will be contesting this mess in court unless you sort it out!

The sad thing is i will get a responce here before Neotel will...! I sent the Cancellation Email 7 days ago... and got the automated reponce. What is the next step as the call centre is hit and miss ...

Any insite will be helpfull!

1.) Cancel Neotel!
2.) Destroy your device in the most fun/imaginative way possible ;) :p

Neotel's had issues from day one. Their network is about as stable as an elephant balancing a stack of plates on the end of pole while crossing a tight rope. Their call centre could be run by monkeys and it would be better than it is now. Do I even need to tackle their accounts department?

Yea ..!

But what about the bandwidth usage issue..how do they get there figure! ... I meen how or what the hell do you have to do to use 42Gigs. Expecially with a Neotel connection like my one?
Why cant they provide me with usage stats ... I think they trying to rip poeple off! ... SO i must blindly pay for 11 & 42Gigs of overusage ...Its insane!

this looks like a hugo problem, try contact him on [email protected]
DONT bother with the call centre
he sometimes responds within 2 minutes and sometimes never.......
but he is very good in sorting out neotels mess, as much as he can
due to him at least i have stable, albeit a tad slow, internet

how many happy neotel customers are there? from what i have read lately... very few???

I feel I have to speak for the minority.

I am an extremely happy Neotel customer. I'm on NeoConnect Prime Unlimited, and have moved 62gb this month (in 17 days). Yes, I get the occasional dropped connection, but Windows dial-up adapter redials and reconnects instantly. My down speeds are hardly ever below 1.5mbps, and at times I get close to 2mbps. My upload speeds are very slow (+- 0.09mbps) but that doesn't really affect my overall experience.

I realize I'm in a minority here, but I think there probably are a lot more satisfied Neotel customers out there, they just don't use this forum.

Even though I agree that Neotel's coverage / service isn't what they say it is, the smart thing to do is 'try before you buy'. My decision to sign up with Neotel was an educated one, as I insisted on having a demo unit (which obviously performed really well) at home before signing up.

Thanks.

Nice to see the odd compliments coming through for the brand!
Much appreciated.
Eventually, i'd like all posters to have a psotive experience! Time will reflect.

Happy customer here... (Hugo gets some credit for having my ports opened)
Once I could not connect, phoned the call center, call answered immediatly and they told me they just picked up a problem. Other than thats its been up, stable and reliable. Download speeds varies depending on server I connect too but my Linux updates normally hover between 100 and 120KB/s.

Latency around 120ms.

Just need the usage notification and I am a happy camper.

Hi Hugo

...Was somthing supposed to happen after you sent me that email...
