Hi All

I apologise if this is the wrong forum for this topic. I had a Telkom landline installed on the 11th of September with the aim of getting Afrihost to take over the line and have it converted to DSL for me. Afrihost then informed me that the number has not been activated by Telkom. Four days and 8 phone calls later, and Telkom is no closer to telling me when I will actually have an actual line. What do I do? As I said, I've phoned Telkom's call centre (10213) multiple times and no one can help me. I'm beyond frustrated and desperate. Is there a way for me to escalate a query? An email? A different number? I need an Internet connection in order to work! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Raees Dawood. I’m just comparing LTE to ADSL. That’s all I’m trying to do here. LTE is mobile, ADSL is not. LTE’s speed should be faster than ADSL, but might not be faster.

What is your LTE speed? Actual speed, not theoretical speed. 10 Mbps? Sometimes maybe 20 Mbps?

I assume you got the SmartBroadband Wireless 50 GB for R749 a month (R15 per GB). The LTE out of bundle data rate of R0,29 per MB (R297 per GB) … that’s way too expensive, that’s daylight robbery. ADSL out of bundle is only R12 per GB. And with ADSL’s unlimited NightSurfer one need not run out of data.

Uncapped is a fairy tale. The FUP throttles drastically after a while. Torrents are capped at only 50 gig
