Hi

So I am trying to create a logbook application using Flash (if that is even possible)

I can't find much about databases in Flash on the net, but I really like Flash tbh.

So what I want to do is to put something like the pic in the link in a flashy Flash application and get rid of the pen & paper nonsense.

Note all the fields, and that most of the fields need to be summed up

Any advice?

PS: I know there are a few freeware logbook apps online, but they all have a Win98 look to them, hence why I would like to make my own

Do you own a smartphone or are you building this purely to be an install .exe?

I own an Android, so I can eventually port it to the phone I think.

Google App Engine? Will have a look.

The only programming skills I have is a bit of high school Delphi 7. ASP.Net looks complicated to me

Google App Engine will let you easily do this in HTML5 by the way.

You wouldn't happen to know of a decent guide for using the cloud to capture data would you? Downloaded the SDK but it's quite Greek to me.

In that case rather use straight up HTML, some jQuery with a wee bit of php for your data layer. You should be able to find some good tutorials on the web!
