Hello Fine Sirs,
Once again i find myself in a dilemma , i have the privilige of getting a ,
Razer Mamba 2012 or Cyborg Rat 7

I urge you to leave a reply with your choice.
Thanks again.

Razer Mamba gets my vote.

It just does everything perfectly, no customization required.

The dual wired/wireless solution and the dock just give it that premium feel that the Rat7 doesn't have - Feels just like a wireless Rat5, whereas the Mamba feels superior to the rest of Razer's range.

Mamba, awesome mouse mine only worked for a day but should be getting my new one this week
I tried the Rat but didn't like the feel personally.

Mamba or G9x

I can't really comment on the Mamba since I haven't tried it, but I personally probably won't buy a Razer mouse ever again. Their build quality is just generally shockingly bad, everything feels cheap and plasticky, it breaks often and the drivers tend to be buggy. I know the word on the street is the Mamba is supposedly much better quality and a return to form for Razer but still. I just have that image.

I can tell you the RAT 7 is awesome though (I have one, unlike some who make retarded claims like that it's wireless ;)). Only thing I've ever seen that's on par or even better than a Logitech quality-wise. Also the only actually ergonomical mouse on the market right now (provided you're right handed of course) since it adjusts shape and size. Again the only one that fits my hand properly since the Logitech G5. Try searching for other threads about people considering it recently.

Just don't be crazy enough to pay R400 extra for the new white version :wtf:

Logitech G700 Love mine, has all the buttons you ever need, much better build quality than Razer's squeaky mouse wheel crap. I hate having wires on something you move a lot. On a PC, that's your mouse and your headset. Now I just need to sell my Roccat Kave and get G930 still.

Out of those 2 I'd take the Rat 7.

I bought a rat 9... after a month the laser stopped registering. Took the mouse in to RMA and the techie said mine is the 3rd being returned that week, mouse buttons weren't registering clicks on the other two. It's a brilliant mouse while it works.

So there you go, if you want quality, stick to Logitech (best mouse company in world). I won't even comment on how high returns are on Razer products.

G5 = G500, nice for big hands, palm grip
G9x is for both, bit of a "claw" grip with the one body and palm with the other.

The RAT 9 has had some reported issues as per yazzo's comment.

The RAT 7 however is an awesome little critter. I have had mine for a few months now and not a single issue.

But seriously, wireless mice for gaming is a no no IMO.

Proud owner of the R.A.T 7.

Work with a G9x at work, can honestly say that the 7 beats it in terms of quality.

R.A.T 7 tracking issues, I have tried mine on the Following:
Goliathus Fragged Control and Speed.
Roccat Sota
Goliathus non-fragged speed
Steelseries QCK Diablo III
Wood Table
White piece of paper taped to the table, actually gives the best tracking IMO
All the Above work with no tracking issues at all

Haven't played for hours with the Mamba but a very comfortable mouse indeed, I wouldn't swap the 7 for the mamba though.

Why? Do you say so from experience or have you read it somewhere... I've been gaming with the G7 wireless mouse since 2005 to beginning this year when I bought the G700. I'll never touch a wired mouse again, especially when gaming, where a lot of quick movements are required. Why have a cable dragging along on the desk with every movement.?

I don't use a mouse where the cable is in chain mail. Why do you? Normal cable thread works just fine for me.

Many wireless "gaming" mice have given issues over the past few years. They are often laggy and that is the LAST thing you want when playing high speed FPS games. For RPG's and solitaire probably not problem.

I have never had an issue using a cable mouse, doesn't phase me.

+1

Gaming wireless mouses these days have 0 lag. Prefer corded though.
