Hi guys, I'm getting a new XBOX, now I'm just amped to find out which games of which genre's is best :

I mostly enjoy sport games, just bad there's no rugby on xbox :(

Anyways, please advise me to the best games in the following categories!!

Cricket :
Tennis :
Soccer :
Fighting :
Skating game :
Fishing / Hunting :
Other sport? :

Racing game? GRID?

GTA4 definitely - anything similar that's a must have?

GOW2?

Any other games that are simply must haves?
I mostly play 1st person shooters like COD etc on my PC, what I'm looking for is good console games that's not crappy without a mouse!

Thanks guys, appreciated! :D

pop over to musica and see if you can still get Forsa 2 for R170

Cricket: Brian Lara
Fighting: Dead or Alive 4, MK vs. DC Universe
Grid is awesome.

I ordered off Calamari.net and got 3 games for R650 incl. postage

All 3 are racers since I suck at FPS on console :(

- GRID
- Burnout Paradise (since I looooved burnout on xbox1)
- Sega Rally

Now a lot of folks will say sega rally sucks, but the primary reason why I bought it is to get AWAY from simulator racers like Forza 2 (which I also have) and get a non technical, fun, can-play-for-10mins-at-a-time game that provides instant action.

I love rally games and this one is pretty straight forward, dirty, no damage taken .. and insane amounts of drifting :D

GOW2 I had for a while and it seems like a cool game if ure into FPS & even though I can't aim with console it played nicely after a few mins, but give that Sean <something> snowboarding game a go as well if u're into the skating thing.

If you have the cash, Fable2 is also a very good choice. I instantly loved fable1 on pc and #2 is also proving to be cool. Other than that ... perhaps adventure/something like Prince of Persia or Ninja Gayden 2 ?

Cricket : ??? Dunno, is their a cricket game on XBOX?
Tennis : Dunno
Soccer : PES (any on the series)
Fighting : MK vs Marvel or Street Fighter 4
Skating : .skate or .skate 2 :) nothing else!!!
Fishing/Hunting : ??? don't know if any exist?
Other Sport? : Hanky Panky Show Down, wait that is an off line game the missus and I play :)
Racing : PGR4 (for arcade style) or FORZA2

Cricket: Probably the Brian Lara series of games...
Tennis: Rockstar Table Tennis
Soccer: PES? (Dunno, I hate soccer)
Fighting: Dead or Alive 4 (can pick it up real cheap and its an awesome game)
Skating: Skate (can also pick it up dirt cheap) DON'T GET TONY HAWK!
Fishing/Hunting: No such games on the 360
Other Sport: Snowboarding perhaps? If so, then Shaun White Snowboarding.
Racing: So many to choose from! Grid, Forza 2, Project Gotham Racing (PGR) 3 or 4, Dirt... For some ATV fun, get Pure.

Also, don't dismiss the idea of a FPS on a console. Orange Box was my first ever foray into console FPS and it was a quick and easy transition. Since then I've played numerous FPS titles on the console with a gamepad, including Perfect Dark Zero, Call of Duty 2/3/4, Bioshock, Orange Box, Left 4 Dead, Battlefield: Bad Company, etc... After you get used to the gamepad, it starts feeling natural. Just give it a try and you'll probably never look back!

Thanks guys!!

OK so it's
PES 2009
Skate
Brian Lara
Rockstar Table Tennis
GTA 4
Forza 2 (Have GRID on pc)

Any other must-have titles on XBOX?
Halo3?
Mass Effect?
Gears of War? 2?
Anything else that's just brilliant and I wouldn't have heard from on PC?

I almost forgot :
Can you name some good 2-player games too?

I'm not gonna play online, but my flatmate will want to play with me most of the time.
Army of Two?
...?
...?
...?

Appreciated!

So far i've found the most successful 2 player games are mostly racing & fighting.

I reckon a cool 2 player snowboarding game would also rock!

Get madden 2009. It's awesome. If you haven't watched/played football it takes a while to get used to the rules, but if you take time to learn it's probably one of the best sports games available.

Most fighting games should be fun in 2-player more. Dead or Alive 4 is a sure bet for (quite competitive) multiplayer fun. Halo 3 and Gears of War have some excellent co-op campaigns and should be worth a look. Also, get hold of Left 4 Dead. It's a frantic run for the safe-houses even in 2-player mode, with the (brilliant) AI team-mates helping you along.

If you are planning on getting on Live, do yourself a favour and buy Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix... You'll thank me for the suggestion! :p

I dont know why people mention SF IV when the game isnt out yet and they havent even played it yet ! the best fighting game to get on the 360 is VF5 without a doubt, it is considered way more superior and technical than Doa4 or MK vs DC from a gameplay point of view and from a graphical point of view ! A good feature of Doa 4 though is the open ended environments,

mk vs dc looks like a gr8 2 player game. read the review elsewhere....

on the skating games, i would go with the tony hawk series until skate II comes out

another fun sport game would be tiger woods 09

Gears of War 1 and 2 are both must haves. I also reccomend Fallout 3 if you haven't played it on PC, and Fable2 if you enjoy a good action-RPG.

I've borrowed Halo 3 from a friend, must say : I have NO IDEA why that dude killed his mom over this POS.

(OK, OK it would've been nice, but I hate xbox's aiming system as opposed to having a mouse.. So I won't be buying any FPSs for the XBOX)

I played Pure in Game a bit, LOVED it, so I bought it, along with Rockstar Table Tennis and GTA 4 too.

I dislike GTA's aiming system still (PC is so easy to blow out a tyre with mouse-aiming etc, but a great game)

Anyway, IMO :
Pure : 9/10 (Absolutely awesome, and eye-candy when playing via HDMI cable on my Sony Bravia 40")
GTA : 9/10 (aiming only thing handicapping it)

Now why is there no rugby on xbox... :D
Pfft...

Anything Ratchet-and-Clank like on XBOX??

Anything Ratchet-and-Clank like on XBOX??

Never Gonna happen since sony own the studio that develops R&C ! closest games to R&C IMO is crash banticoot games (new ones are not really as good as the old ps1 versions though) and Banjo : nuts & bolts

+4

Must must have.

Also, am I stuck in 2003 or is it WAAAY more difficult to play a game like skate with the stick rather than X Y A B? I don't want to have to flick crap the whole time to jump... ;(
