I am pretty happy with CellC. It might not be the cheapest or the best network but all in all and in my opinion, it is the most balanced. I do not like contracts FULL-STOP. I am not a heavy user and have a bunch of cellphones already, ATM my cellphone account is between 200 and 250Rand per month. I use data (about a GIG/month) and of course phone calls. No video calls or anything fancy. Not even SMS that much (I am using whatsup) Which package should I purchase at the begin of each and every month? The R150 one or the R300? See attachments for the respective offers.

I would go for the second option as you stated that you use about 1GB worth of data every month, the second option comes closest to it at 900MB. It still seems a bit expensive though..

Just remember that your OOB rates are R1/MB. To avoid OOB, load R7.50 50MB bundle immediately after recharge (or make it recurrent), so you will be charged 15c/MB in case of finishing bonus data.

The second option has the data part in it's favour but 900 minutes and 900 smses, are you going to even use that much? Seems a waste.

Just a little tip, I have been using Cell C prepaid for ages.

You cant recharge at most vendors for R300, they give you 2 x R150 vouchers which dont help.
The Free minutes are only cell C to Cell C, and R150 for 400mb for 15 days I find is better than R300 for 900mb for 30 days as there are times when for a few days you really dont need the data and hence can eek out the vouchers as you will still have airtime and at 0.15c per mb its pretty cheap for ad hoc use.

Same goes for R20 - I got 2 x R10
