Help me get sound

At work here im doing appy stuff on this computer and i want to listen to music. . .
Thing is its windows 2000 and im not an administrator.
Nor was the driver installed on the computer, untill i used "map network drive" to find the "z" server which has all the drivers, programs on it, i used CPUZ to find the motherboard model and then installed the REALTEK audio driver, it installed, i restarted, logged back in and guess what? No sound

Probably using a group policy or DeepFreeze or something. Rebooting reverts the computer back to its previous state (i.e. before driver was installed)

So i guess im not getting sound?
