ok my friend made a statement that his 86gt with vista... will out preform my 98gtx in xp.
So i think his out of his head what do you think? We going to run tests next week to see who gfx is the best. I personally think it's a waste of time.

the 9800GTX is basically an 8800 with a 9 infront, is it not? and the 8800 will own a 8600, vista, or xp.

There are some minor differences (though the 9800GT was identical to the 8800GT when it was launched) though the performance difference between the 8600GT and even the 8800GT is huge, let alone the 9800GTX

I would not say its the same, 9800gtx is faster so its the next gen gpu, 7800gtx/8800gtx/9800gtx are not the same.

p.s. I hope the rest of your system matches his as i am sure you do not want a bottleneck which will slow the 98 down
