Ok here's the deal, I just found out via facebook that a friend of mine whom I last saw in primary school has cancer and she shaved her head.

Now in support of her I'm gonna shave my head as well but I need some tips to keep my melon moisturised & free of sunburn as we are currently in the hottest phase of summer.

I don't really care what happens to my head but I would prefer some precautionary advice!

I'm actually being a pu$$y and should just do it irrespective of the burn that's gonna get me (I usually wear my hair as a #1) :D

Screw it I don't need comforting advice if she can go through this I'm being a wuss.

You should find a hat useful for sunburn prevention :erm:

As for moisturizing consult a metrosexual...

I take my hat off to you. A very noble thing to do in support of your friend. Ant_man was also going to shave his head when I lost my hair to chemo but he chickened out and I don't blame him! It was the worst day of my life - my hair was my crowning glory!

Get a Wahl. No shaving.

I have Wahl clippers, best investment ever but I've only ever done a #1. Right now I'm thinking going without any combs on the clippers and then pulling out the Mach3 razor.

I've had my head shaved for years now. Trim your hair short with clippers, then take a lot of shaving cream and a razor after a long shower. I use a Gillette Fusion razor blades. Always shave your hair along with the grain - not against it to avoid ingrown hairs.

I never use moisturiser. Your head is naturally oily, so you don't want to add to that. WRT sunburn, my head is used to the sun - so I don't suffer. If you are a first timer, prepare to be burned even with the slightest exposure. So you will need to protect that noggin until it becomes acclimatised to its new harsh environment! :D

Go 0. No shaving, jeesus!

Gimme some time, gonna find the extension cord and move into the bathroom with the clippers before I pull the razor out.
