I gained some weight over the holidays and I'm no really in shape anymore anyway. So I would like you guys to help me get back fast I need a good diet plan because I don't know what's good and what's not. The plan is so I can loose weight quickly as I exercise. What I do is I run every morning and lift weights or do some cardiovascular exercises (tae no gay I know lol ). Any help will be appreciated thank you.

You guys can even suggest an exercise plan that I can do without having to go to the gym. I'm not trying to get buff just want to get into shape.

Honestly, whatever you want.
As long as you burn more than you put in, you will lose weight.
So if you wanna go do a buffet, cool, make sure you work that off though.

I dont like diets, each year there are new diets which disprove the old diets etc etc.
Things are simple, lay off the fizzy drinks, crisps and sweets. Eat less bread and carbs, run like its zombieland.

healthy protein (eggs, legumes, fish, chicken, less red meat, lean cuts), healthy fats (cut out the fried stuff, use less oil, cook with unsaturated fats with high smoke points), less refined carbs, higher fibre carbs, lots of fruit and veg.
lower kilojoule meals, lower gi carbs.

I eat 5 small portions a day just to keep going. I start with all bran flakes at 7 or 7:30am, then an apple or a muffin and water or juice at 11am, then 2 minute noodles at 1pm, then a light sandwhich(bread with cheese or smeerbos) at past 4 when i get home, just to keep me going till dinner which is usually a piece of chicken and rice and whatever i find to add more colour to the food like beans or sweet corn.lol

Hey i only started this plan yesterday. I havent started gymning in a serious manner yet, i will try tonight.

Anyway, those small portions help, but you will feel hungry cos its too small, thats normal because your body is not used to it yet.

I also want to get healthy iv been eating junk almost everyday do yeah

How do you know it will work, have you done it before or do you know someone who has ?

Just cut out carbs and increase your intake of meat, fish, eggs, cheese, nuts and veggies. Seriously. I've lost like 3kgs since the end of the holidays which wasnt that long ago. Its not difficult for me, but it means no (or very little) bread, chocolate, beer, rice, pasta, etc etc. All those quick and easy foods you love go out the window. I dont even have sugar in my tea anymore. Sigh. But I think it will be worth it, I havent weighed 90 KGs in some time, so I'm hoping it continues.

I disagree, but of course I would, it was my advice i am agreeing with :)

Losing weight really is as simple as burning more than you eat. Sure, dieting will make it a little faster etc.
But you dont have to, and dieting honestly makes most people miserable. They dont get instant results, and then they give up.

I eat like a monster (and eat junk food etc). But I probably do 2 hours + or cardio a day, so its not a problem.
Usually the same people trying these diets are those new guys you see in the gym during January and November.

It is not as simple as burning more than you eat.

If you eat a diet high in fat you will struggle, it seems like horrible advice to give people in my opinion. Eat crap and do cardio for 2 hours a day and you will be fine. Perhaps you have 2 hours a day to spare but most people don't.
No dude sis you cannot give people that kind of advice

If you eat well you do not even need much cardio or exercise for that matter to lose weight.

the formula is really basic

intake - expenditure = weight loss or gain

Quick success diet meal:
tuna salad (tuna in brine)
add anything eg: onions, tomato, peas, chopped broccoli, chillies/peppers, a little bit of mayo (also added small blocks of mature cheddar cheese - you need that bit of fat)
I once did the tuna diet for a month, lost 4 kg's with moderate physical activity.

Look, I am not talking about going bananas here, common sense needs to prevail. But in general, eat enough to make you full, try cook at home instead of take aways, avoid stuff you know is going to cost you in the gym.

I still dont see the problem? I mean, if you can diet then great. If not, I think changing small things and simply running more would work

Does anyone have a sample weekly diet I can follow for now? Thanks for the advice so far keep it coming :)

i think that what he is referring to is that you should diet on healthy food, not on crap, you will see better results and have more energy.

You also need to make sure you eat more than your basal metabolic rate to avoid starving yourself.

beyond that, its worse to eat a diet high in carbohydrates than it is to eat a diet high in fat. So, eat those fatty lamb chops, just dont have them with any rice. Unless of course you are running a marathon, then you actually need the energy.

Eat less run more.
Problem solved.

I agree with you 100%.

Lifestyle changes are way more important than fad diets that deprive you of certain foods.
If you want a chocolate, eat a chocolate - Just don't eat a whole 100g slab
Eating healthier (less junk food) and more activity will benefit you in the long run, and is a lot easier to maintain than weighing your food and only eating certain things.

Diets only last a few weeks, then you get bored of them, start eating how you used to and gain all the weight back.
If you change your lifestyle, then you are more likely to keep the weight off.

Start small - like ordering rice/baked potato/salad instead of fries, small packet of crisps instead of a big bag, 1 can of coke instead of a whole bottle.
