Hmmm, I suspect a Geforce 8400GS 450M 256MB DDR2 TV - XFX (R359) might just be able to handle it. Don't hold me to that, though ;)

Well I could just use the onboard VGA but the thing is I wanna run Aero when I get Vista so I'm not sure the onboard will handle Aero all that well. :eek:

Cheapest PCI-E GFX card that'll run Aero with no problems?

Most onboard graphics today can handle Aero, I've used Aero with an onboard graphics ATI el-cheapo graphics chip that's more than 3 years old and it ran smoothly.

I had a 7400 with 384MB RAM and it ran Aero on full without any hitches at all. Resolution was 1280x800. So pretty much anything non-onboard will run it.

But your upgrade will be a partial downgrade because your onboard graphics or 8400 will be worse than your 6800...
