I'm so bored at work everyday, there are quiet moments where I have nothing to do. (like half of my day really.) I would rather be busy then times passes faster.

And in May month I will be working 10.5 hour shifts and then 4-6 hour shifts the next day. So it alternates, I need something to keep me busy during that time. I can't spend the entire day on the internet I would bombard everyone with posts and threads (as I already am).

What can I do? What can I buy? I would need something time consuming like a pokemon game or something.

Civilisation 5. Turn based awesomeness.

Or get something like Skyrim where you can pause if you need to work, but has a bajillion hours of content.

Didn't you make a thread just a few days ago about not having any spare time? Now all of a sudden you're so bored you don't know what to do?

What up with that?

I have no spare time outside of work. I have nothing to do at work besides sit on the internet and annoy people.

The reason is I work between shops, one is quiet and the other is busy. You won't see me post tonight between 3 and 7 because I'll be at the busy store.

I would like to but the work pc doesn't have a graphics card, I might be able to bring a NDS Emulator to work on a flash drive. I need something small that doesn't need installation, like a gameboy or a psp or an iphone.

Get a Kindle or a iphone/galaxy.
play away or read.

Maybe perhaps expand your mind a bit? Open University? See what there is to study, and self study. Maybe you discover a new passion, or can expand on a current one.

How about minesweeper and a hooker?

:D

I see what you did there ;D

I just checked, I'm thinking the fact that Solitaire and Minesweeper have been removed from this PC probably indicates I shouldn't be on the internet.

I'll look into that :D Is that a smartphone? I heard some of them can actually run old gameboy games.

The reason I started working instead of studying further is because I have no passion, or I don't know. There are things I would like to learn or teach myself, but I can't do them behind a desk.

I would love to be able to work on cars, I can already do some minor maintenance on my scooter like checking valve clearances, changing the belt and rollers, oil changes etc. But I was able to learn all of these via Youtube videos cause working on a scooter is as easy as replacing a graphics card in a PC. But cars are different eh? Even motorcycles are.

I'm probably making myself sound smarter than I am, but behind this desk I may as well be soulless

Edit: I mean old cars, I would love to work on those. New cars might as well be binary code to me.

I'd say get a netbook or something and play some old games on it, much cheaper than a tablet or phone or handheld console, plus it will be entertaining, not like the simplistic, actiony games you get on e.g. a PSP.

Use it for some Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate, Civ 3 (4 might be too slow, 5 is shyte) Command & Conquer, Fallout, that kind of thing..

Why don't you learn to program? its tons of fun. I try and write applications that automates admin tasks in the office when im bored.

Android phones have emulators for up to Nintendo 64 and even PSx. Managed to get quite a way with FF7 on my phone...then I got bored. But you might finish it! I can't replay games I have finished already.

Maybe look at MIT engineering courses? Quite a way above fixing cars, but might come in useful. There are videos as well, so it's not just boring reading. But if you are g@tvol of studying, maybe just play games for a while:-) I challenge you to do FF1-3 in the next few weeks...Emulator on pc/laptop or phone. I like the phone method. Always handy when taking a...um...walk?!

Here's an idea. Enroll in a course. Study. Get a few diploma's or even a degree. Find a better job.

If you're sitting around twiddling your thumbs most of the time and get paid for it, then I'd rather be paid than having to work 20 hour days

Use your time productively:

1. Start a blog.
2. Figure out how to earn some money on the internet during your spare time.
3. Share trading.
4. Study or do online tutorials.
5. Take up a hobby.

You'll probably have to exercise all the aforementioned advice since you'll soon get bored with each activity.
What sort of shops do you work in?
Don't you rather want to try find a job that challenges you a little more?

I very much enjoyed FF7, I might try that again. I was young when I played it but I enjoyed it. Same with FF10 - that game was my primary school crush :D

I tried playing some of the older Final Fantasies, but I couldn't get into them. I tried 8 and 9 as well as 4 and I didn't like them because of the storylines, I think because i already loved the FF7 and FF10 storylines I was able to re live them with emotion and vigor :D

It's weird, I enjoy the games I grew up playing more than current games. I'd rather play Digimon World than The Witcher for example despite being 20.

Is MIT like mechatronics or mechanical engineering? I highly doubt I'm smart enough to learn that. I would need to do math highgrade and science yeah? I'm not proud of my highschool career and I realized that far too late. (I do have matric though)

So many good suggestions, I've seen Forex trading advertisements before but tbh I have no idea how the stock or share trading market works.
