I can't quite get my head around this.

I have a Samsung 19 inch Led monitor. Model is the syncmaster SA100. When I switch on my pc, a little mouse appears indicating that I need to move the mouse. After I do that, the name of the motherboard appears, and it boots up normally.

How do I change this, whereby I don't need to move the mouse at start up to have it started normally. Remember, this is not while the pc is in sleep mode, but from actual start up. My buddy reckons it was setup like that in the BIOS, so how do I get it to boot up normally?

Thanks

I'm not clued up with PC's, so where do I check for this? And how do I change it?

When you turn the computer on you get that initial screen where you can press something like F10, F12 or Delete key. It will usually say on the screen.

Okay I know what you are talking about. But in there, what would I need to do?

Sounds like you have something like Asus ExpressGate running.... Disable it in BIOS... Look for boot settings...

What motherboard do you have? You probably have something like the winki startup OS or something similar, like what antowan said. Your computer should boot normally if you leave it alone, though this will add to your boot time. Go into your BIOS settings to disable this.
