Help needed - running my first race

I normally give it a week after any infections or colds. Then start back, 1 week easy then back to normal. So 1 week after the last symptom or in your case, last antibiotic taken.

Though getting sick is a big deal when you're an athlete. So I also tend to take Immunochoice as a preventative measure (and also Solaltech IMMUNITY). When sick, Linctagon+ACC200+VitC1000mg works for me.. with regular cooking sessions in the sauna at the gym (induces a fever effectively, ill-advised if you aren't used to it). I'm a little paranoid, but when you lose 2-3 weeks of training, you lose 2 months of progress. I haven't been sick for 2 months and I'm finally getting quicker now!

Good luck though and take it slow when you're coming back. Also, do not do anything if symptoms are below the neck (like Bronchitis). Once that clears, then only consider getting back into it.

Thanx for the tips. I have been flue free for more than a year. Now that I'm finally seeing the progress of training I'm down. Sucks but I'll rather be safe.

Tx:)

ALWAYS happens! :) Become paranoid. Wash your hands and take the immune supplements. With the training, the immune system becomes just that little bit more vulnerable. On the other hand, I'd advise switching to swimming when you are sick. I always carry on with swim training when sick, just drop the intensity a bit. I find it helps to mitigate the loss of some conditioning and also keeps the training habit going :-)
