Help Needed

Hi Guys,

I got my new PC 2 days ago.

Specs:

Intel i7 2600 3.4GHz
Gigabyte P67A-UD3 Socket 1155 Motherboard
Radeon HD 6950
8GB DDR3 1333
2TB HDD
650W CoolerMaster PSU

....

Ok the issue that I am having is as follows.

When playing games (COD Black Ops, MW, MW2, etc) The picture on the screen sometimes messes around. Some of the textures look funky and there are lines and black blocks flickering on the screen. Sometimes it does not happen. It also does not happen when using Windows 7 normally. Also does not happen in HD movies. It does however happen when using my browser (ie and Firefox). It sometimes has lil black triangles stretching from the middle of the screen to the corners, and in the bar at the bottom it has lil white dots. But this goes away as soon as I say show desktop again, and appears when I open the browser window again.

I hope you guys understand what I mean?

It only happens on the odd occasion though

Edit: The issue has been resolved, was linked to a faulty MB driver

My Wife gets that occasionally in Black Ops, and only in Black Ops. I would have normally suspected the GPU overheating, but in her case its not. I Updated her Drivers with the new one and no difference. Her problem has only been since the last BLOPS update with the DLC maps tho. Before I Updated the GPU driver (for her HD4890) the game would crash with a DirectX error, now it gives some other error. My next solution will be to re-install all her DirectX components, then the game itself....
 
I have tried that, but still the same. It happens in all games though. Even stupid Trackmania.... :( Very strange.
 
Wierd things are happening. When the card is under load (ie, have 2 CODs open) then the problem is no more. It seems like, I know this sounds stupid, the card needs to warm up :) It's very strange. Please help anyone. Am gonna give 11.4 a go, but dunno if that will solve the problem. Also, if I have COD open and I want to browse, the browser displays fine. This is very strange
 
Ok, tried Catalyst 11.4, no luck. It is still giving me the funny artifacts in browser and games.. :( Anyone?
