Hi All

We created a second partition in Win7 using disk management installed Win XP on the new partition but the dual boot menu does not appear and instaed it now opens Win XP.
How do I create this dual boot menu or how can I remove the new partition which is now the boot drive.

Your help is urgently required, thanks in advance.

The general rule is to install the oolder OS first. Then when the newer OS is installed, it will sort out the boot manager. Too late for that now...

If you use a Windows 7 DVD and startup with it, use the repair your computer option to restore your startup files. Should sort it quite easily. Should even fix the boot manager to show Xp and Windows 7.

If you have any further problems, then get this program!

It's not free.... but it is great! :D

Thanks to all for your replies:)
OK, I re-installed Win7 and I was then able to the remove the second partition.
Thanks Garyvdh...looks like a neat little program and not too expensive.
