guys im lost could someone pls help me

iv got iburst running on windows, and any one who couldnt mannage that would have to be a monkey esp with ibursts wonderfull WINHDOZZZ sapport.

that said they dont give any #$!$!@$!$%%$ linux sapport. "not nice unkind stupid meen harsh unhelpfull and downright deserting". I mean thats just where you need there sapport.

esp if you are new to linux.

guys i dont have the faintest clue how to get it running never mind all the probs every one is talking about.

ive got the drivers installed duh

ive got pppoe installed.

but pppoe only gives only cs my ethernet card, well as far as i figure iburst terminal is also sapposed to be one. but im using the usb modem.

when i type the command to c what usb devices are connected i can c the iburst terminal.
but when i look in proc/drivers thers none.

ive tried to follow the readme that ame with the drivers. but i dont know where to even try to type in the commands they give for trouble shooting, and i dont understand a thing about configuring pppoe

pls help

by the way i get download speeds of oup to 120 kBps

but thats at quiet times

usually btween 5 and 30 kBps
depending on the sight
and traffic
lime wire is damn slow with iburst
the most ive ever had was 13
and always 1 or 2 lucky to get 5

sorry, don't know linux. try googling network settings for linux. Is it just me or did you post this like 4 times?

Well Limewire is shaped, all P2P is, its actually better once you are capped, you will get your full capped speed. But no P2P is suposed to work after cap, so if you get it going your lucky. You can just use a unshaping proxy, I got 100kb off Limewire easily.

Lol, so you just spammed your problem in the thread about 5 times, makes it alot harder to try help, yet despite my name I have no idea about Linux.

Well, one way out is to buy a broadband router and have it do all the work.

Lunix should be smart enough to see there is an internet gateway on the network then (but maybe not)

ok, what drivers are you using?
This? http://sourceforge.net/projects/ibdriver/

You have to use the ethernet port and not the USB port. The reason being there are no Linux drivers for connecting through USB for the modem.

After connecting into the ethernet port, if you go into YaST and setup an ADSL connection using PPPoE it should then work. I will probably be installing 10.1 this evening so I'll be able to give you more detailed instructions.

If you had installed with the modem connected to the ethernet port it would have picked it up and asked you for the details (if 10.1 install is similar to the 10.0 install).

I see I stand corrected re the drivers. But connecting via ethernet has never failed me using ubuntu, suse and fedora.

i believe he has USB only modem I not ganna repost was I said in the other thread

Oh didn't realise there were only USB modems available.

So what, do they have a permanent cord attached to them?

Or if they have a USB connector on the modem, would an ethernet-usb cord not solve the problem? Or is such a cord not possible?

Are there routers that can handle USB modems?

seburn - i clicked on ="find all posts by seburn" and nothing there is a glaringly obvious solution to this problem. How bout at least posting the link to that post?
