Help picking an external harddrive

Yes - Some models of EXT Drives have DRM which you can't disable. This is usually the NAS drives admittedly, but at least you know exactly which drive you have.
 
Get yourself a 1TB 3.5" harddrive and an enclosure. I got an enclosure and a 1TB for under R1200. Then it supports both eSATA and USB2
 
Thanx for the suggestions guys. It seems external enclosure is the way to go.
 
Makro has a Fujitsu 1TB External drive for R999 on special
 
Also many of the hdd that do support eSATA come with the relevant bits and bobs to give your pc an eSATA port, so dont miss the opportunity - speeds are much better with eSATA
 

They're usually noisy.
Better to get the all in 1 combo.
