Hi guys.

A friend of mine was having some problems with his connection, so I asked him to try my username and password, and now it seems that all the settings for his modem have been lost.

Can someone please give me the default setup for one of this Billion routers, please?

He's connecting via PPPoE. It just says "Connecting" and never does.

He has things like VPI and VCI etc there. What should all these things be set to?

Please help?

Thanks.

Hi

Please tell me the model nr. and also the F/W version of the router.

Hi there

The model is 7300G. Not sure about the firmware version - where do I see that?

It's a new modem, if that helps at all - he got it this month

There isnt actually any settings that you have to change on the router except for the username and password.

VPI: 8
VCI: 35

Just answer the following questions:

1. What lights is on on the router?
2. What is the router doing, i.e. doesnt want to connect ect.. Just abit more info?

Did it work when you entered your U/N, password?

Otherwise he must phone Telkom to do an ADSL port reset on his DSLAM.
This has solved the problem in quite a few circumstances.

I'm unfortunately not sure as I'm not seeing the router.

He tried my username and it didn't work, so he put his back, and it still wouldn't work. Just says "Connecting..."

Ok had this problem before. Tell your friend he must phone Telkom and tell them to do an ADSL port reset on his DSLAM. This will solve his problem. ;)

EDIT: He can phone now, there should be people there that can do it now.
