hi,

so i bought like about 5 to 6 games from cna in the past month...all of which i installed and play quite regulary but im tired of keep have to insert the disk 2 everytime i wanna change games...so i tried the virtual drive solution but im still having probs...i downloaded daemon tools and i mount the ISO file...done...then i double click the icon on my desktop or the virtual drive itself and guess what!!! it still asks me to insert disk no 2 or it says incorrect disk inserted....what am i doing wrong here ....please help me out ... is there anything else i need to do ? should i be installing any other applications as well other than daemon ?

thanks in advance for your replies

as far as I remember, when you create an ISO, 2 files are produced ..... try mounting the other file?

well on some games only one file shows ....on the ones with two files i will try your suggestion...thanks

games these days tend to not like iso mounting programs and they actually go out of their way to check that you haven't got any of that software running while the game is running, this is to stop piracy. You will probably find that the software you are using to make the images of these discs isn't doing a very good job, your best bet(and I am not encouraging piracy here!!) is to download a cracked exe for the game so that it can run without the disc being present.

A word of caution though, if you play these games online, don't screw with them cause odds are you won't be able to get onto the server once you get the game to run with out the disc.

thanks ...hows does the crack work ? and what must i do to make it work properly..do i double click the crack first before i mount the image or mount the image first then double click the crack ...

make sure to install the games from daemon tools. if u install it using the cd + cd-rom it wont work by mounting. so ya install from the iso's and u shud have no prob

In daemon tools your need make sure all emulation is running, right click daemon in the task bar, move to emulation and make sure all options turned on is ticked.

when you wanna open the file, at the select file dialogue, click on "All Files" next to "File Types" :o

lol thanks keeper ! i actually knew that one ! :) im not all that lost on a pc lol
just when it comes to games ,....

i have to figure it out !!!!!! im buying about 15 more games !!!! second hand originals for R300 its old + some new games ...so i have to figure out how to work this virtual drive stuff :) else im gonna have alot of disks lying on my computer stand that are going to get eaten by my maltese poodle !!!!!!!!!!!

no prob how much you got :) he actually already ate my dungeon siege 2 cover !!! luckily the disk was in the drive at the time :) so far his eaten about 4 disks 6 teddy bears and 4 buttons ...not sure what else his eaten ...will check up next time we at the vet ...:) will post pics when i can....

btw do you guys think R300 for 15 second hand games are too much ? they are in good condition but i see cna sell the older games for quite cheap as well ...like R50 sometimes !

LOL! A sense of humour, how refreshing. :D
Anyway, it depends on the games you are getting, R300 can be a lot if they are a collection of Petz games or Barbie does Hollywood or some crap like that. :p
I would rather keep the cash and get Fallout 3 - it will last you hours and hours, dependingon your rig of course and whether you want to play the game.

No offense but that won't do anything... as others suggested if you own the original then go ahead and download a no cd crack which will sort you out

All depends what games, but off the bat sounds like a fair deal....Just make sure that if they are MP you get the CD and can actually use it.

I only buy multiplayer games because i can only shoot computer AI so many times before it becomes boring.

I hate single player games, either you get shot from anywhere on the map or you can be standing in front of the guy and he won't pop you.

Human element far out weighs the stupid AI bots.
