Hi i have a problem with my connection. I get No pppoe server found error. I have tried with a afrihost account and an webafrica account. I am synching 4096 down and 512 up. Is it my adsl router thats packed up or is it an telkom error on my line?

It happend last night between 11pm and 6am. Before that it have been working for a few months with no problem.

All help will be apreciated

Hi,

Ive had a similar problem and it was a router problem. You might have a similar issue since it seems to be synching at e correct speeds.
Try unplugging the router for a while and the starting it again, then maybe attempt a factory reset (this is what worked for me). It will erase all your settings and revert to the default Telkom pppoe setup. Check if that connects, you canthen change to yours.

Hope this helps.

You may get this from time to time. The problem is the PPPOE gateway is not being found. The problem is upstream from you. All you can do is try again in a bit.
If it is not resolved in a few hours, you should log a ticket with Telkom. Good luck getting them to understand the problem though.

You might need to enable pppoe passthrough on your router.

Also make sure that you're using the correct VPI/VCI settings of 8/35.

Seeing that it did work, it is most likely something out of your control and further upstream from the DSLAM.

Asked for a port reset and my connection isup and running again. Thanks to all :)
