Good Day

I hope someone can give me some advice, I started experiencing intense headaches, dizziness, blur vision and feel light headed for about +- 5 months. I did went and see a doctor and he did some glucose and sugar test and the test only show that I might be a risk of pre-diabetes. Since then every morning or late in the afternoon I feel very dizzy and light headed. I try and eat a yogurt and oats before I come to work but when I get to work I really start to feel very bad then I eat my sandwiches to try and feel better.

Can someone please advise what the problem could be and what I can do to improve this feeling.

Regards

Henry

If you're prediabetic you need to modify your diet to reduce your carb intake, especially bread and the like. Also, how's your blood pressure?

Better still, visit a specialist physician

Hi

I will go to Dischem today and see if they can take my blood pressure. I have changed my diet the last few month by stop drinking coke, eat only brown bread dont drink any coffee anymore. I cant figure out what is causing this .

Hey man

Blurred vision, headaches!! I really think you need to see another doctor to establish what your problem is, or perhaps try teh headache clinic. Most important is look after your health and get the best opinion on your condition. Good luck.

Hi

Have you seen an optometrist?

I had the same symptoms as you for many years and only after I saw an optometrist did we resolve the problem with prescription glasses. I also did a light sensitivity test and found that I was super sensitive to bright light.

Your symptoms can easily be misdiagnosed as diabetes because there are so many other things that can also cause this. Changing your diet and getting exercise can also help. Avoiding fizzy cooldrinkgs is very important as some sugars can cause blurred vision even in the healthiest of people.

You should plan to see a specialist doctor (i.e. a physician) who can give you a full medical check and/or an E.N.T., as dizziness sometimes has to do with your middle ear/s. Middle ear infection can cause some forms of dizziness.

Go to a pharmacy and have them test your blood sugar levels, my brother and two of my cousins are diabetic and your symptoms are exactly what they get when their blood sugar levels are too high or too low. If it's normal definitely go see a doctor, as for doctors in PTA I've been going to Dr. Henri Snyders since I was a kid, wouldn't trust any other doctor.

Agree with all the points made here - get proper medical care

A few years ago I experienced all your symptoms and worse
Turned out the 6 Red Bulls consumed driving from Windhoek to Cape Town was the culprit - sensitive to caffeine

Took 2 weeks for symptoms to disappear - also found out that Red Bull is banned in some European countries

Didn't read, but here's a novel idea: GO TO A DIFFERENT DOCTOR (specialist preferably). A GP knows as much about medicine as I do.

And what's weird is, if you weren't pissing/getting thirsty, why the hell he'd even suggest it might be diabetes? Almost all of us are pre-diabetes.

I am pre-diabetic, full on syndrome X, without the urination/thirst thing.

Now that I think of it, sounds like low blood pressure. Could be a lack of iron or even the beginning of heart failure (heart doesn't pump enough blood around / gets tired etc)

I went to dischem now and did a blood pressure an glucose test.

Glucose = 5.0mmol
Blood pressure = 90/60
