Hey Guys,

Need a bit of help, I have finally found an alternative to my 3g internet for my gaming and netflix, i found a local company that could assist me with a Internet Connection via WISP,

Now for the Question,

I initialy requested the 2mb line as they thought this would be sufficient for netflix, i was busy watching a movie and saw that the quality was not good enough, i then contacted the service provider and they were checking my usage etc
we then picked the speed up to the point where i was able to get a clear picture on my tv, this was around 2.9mb/s
I then aked them to increase up to 4mb line so that i did not have to worry about abusing the 2mb line,

Now this is where it got tricky, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED INBETWEEN THE 2 Changes, All i know is he had to kick the connection to get the 4mb working, Since then the line has gone haywire, i am unable to watch movies at all and it seems as if the connection is continously spiking between 1mb and 6mb, he told me he had removed my speed completely so i would be able to run at up to 200mb but could not get anything working, Netflix was buffering like mad, Online gaming was a nightmare as i was lagging EXTREMELY BADLY, Strangely enough my pings are between 8 and 23 ms to JHB Servers,

I am at whits end as when i do an extended ping i lose packets, could anybody assist as they do not seem to notice the drops?

I agree with murray654. If your WISP isn't able to figure that out, you have made the wrong decision and should look at moving to a different WISP.

Sounds like interference. Public wifi band is possibly crowded...

Most likely. Get up to 200 Mbps? What equipment have they installed?

Can you do some Speedtests and post them please? Use speedtest.mybroadband.co.za and Speedtest.net

Where are you based if I may ask?
