I have just rotated my wheels and now hear constant bumping/knocking noise in the front of the car when driving, the knocks increase as I accelerate - sounds like a tyre going hitting something on the road surface (I checked the tyres and they are clean:rolleyes:)

I don't think it's the engine, either - I tried revving it while stationary and in neutral - no noise, and also, while running it downhill I put it in neutral and switched the engine off - the noise was still there:confused:
Please help before it becomes worse.

I take it that it wasnt there before you had them rotated?
It should be something obvious... just examine your tyres and check if they fitted properly.

Do's it happen when you turn or both(driving straight and turning)

It happens everytime, but more proncounced when driving straight. Sometimes, at low speeds I can feel the vibrations it causes.

Really shot CV's will make a noise in the straight as well as turning, it's unlikely to "suddenly" be CV's, the noise would have become progressively worse.

It's not a Mk3 golf is it? They "suddenly" develop knocks from the top end of their front shocks when the top end wears....?

maybe he put the wheels on backwards. :D

Sounds like bearings, mate :/

Something similar happened to me, was not a serious problem.
All that happened was that after switching the wheels, the wheel balencing weights were hitting the front brake calipers.
Have that checked out.

i have the same prob with my car as soon as i go over 90 its like the wheels wana pop out and leave me be:confused:hind i had new cv's but apparently its the wheel bearing or balljoints( i think). what can i do to sort this out b 4 my wheelssssss pop out out ????
