so i installed the two, set them up based on a youtube video, added my series and cool i get info about them. I then chose wanted, so that they can be downloaded and waited and waited and waited. The downloads( search functionality) doesnt work. i downloaded the nbz file manually and loaded them and sabnzbd works, but cant be automated.

I believe the problem is when sickbeard searched for the .nbz files it doesnt find them or cant connect. And i have no idea how to fix this.

please help :)

You need to have an nzb provider. This detail goes into sickbeard. Depending on the content the sickbeard indexer can sort it out but you will still need a provider. Http://www.nzbsa.co.za not sure how signups work these days but it's a good place. There you will find the api key that will allow sickbeard to interact with nzbsa.

thanks for the feedback guys: turned out i was using the wrong api, the one i got from sabnzbd not my provider. Finally got it working but exceeded my limit. now looking for a paid service with allot of retention. will be using my Hulu+ cash as i have cancelled it.

Any recomendations ? Highly appreciated

Paid news server? I have used astraweb without hassles. There's a local one as well. Search the forums. Lots of threads.

Been using Newsdemon (primary) and Astra (backup) without major hassles for almost 2 years.

Nextgennews is the local one. I have used the premium account before (Unlimited download for 60 days) but moved over to the block account because I watch Netflix now so download less. Their prices are quite cheap, high retention rate, don't really get takedown notices that I know of (never had a failed dl before, even if it shwos not available on some servers), SSL encryption, etc...

Works pretty well but you do get the fake "codec required" things from time to time.

That's one thing that still makes nzb's more of a hassle for me than torrents. With yts (previously yify) you have a good source for movies and eztv for shows. For nzbs I use
Oznzb because they give a bit of info regarding the content and PW warnings and such. But it is still a hassle to find reliable stuff. Is there a better place to search?

Also found nzbmovieseeker which seems nice but I don't know how reliable the content is yet.

I use nzbsa as my NZB search, and nextgennews. I have noticed that in the last few months there has been a marked decrease in the amount of nzb's being picked up. My backlog has just been sitting idle.. Tried using oznzb but their 5 api call a day limit is quite restrictive.

That said though, I have not had any issues with the quality of the downloads that I do get.
