Yep PP gives good advice. He recommends the Plasma as first choice, but will explain to you that LED doesn't reflect as much in the day, and might be better if the situation calls for it.
He also knows a lot more about the specs than most others on mybb

Dolby on the other hand, I have never seen giving plasma even as an option. ever.

Ok guys, sorry to derail this thread, but i am looking for a Samsung non SMART 3D Plasma in the 51"-60" size. Can either be FHD or HD Ready, but i would prefer full HD. Which models should i be looking at and what prices do they go for nowadays. Mainly going to be used for DSTV and my ATV2 and Roku 3 on it. That is why i actually don't need the SMART or 3D options

There are none without SMART and 3D, only entry level low res HD Ready ones (1280x768).

E range is from 2012, F range from 2013.

Samsung. 55 inches. Series 6. No SmartHub. No 3D. R10,999

UA55EH6030 is the model number.

edit: It's not plasma though.
 
That's a very good option. I'm a Sammy fan, but wanna look at the tv first before I make a decision. It must be a FHD Plasma

Not 100% sure, but Samsung vs LG plasma should be closer than each brand's LCDs as their LCDs both use different LCD technologies.

You'll see here that it's mainly Samsung plasmas that feature. Not sure if it's because fewer LGs are tested, or if they're that inferior.

I'd say the LG is definitely worth a shot, have read up a bit about the current 60" and it's been favourable.

Update

Took the TV back ad they refunded me no questions asked

Well done Makro

Wet to Diowired ad they gave me the TV 6400.
The price was actually R14k as the special ended yesterday however however they said no problem they will do it for R9900.

I am happy.

I must say i have only good reviews about the 60" LG plasma. everyne mentions that it only has 2 hdmi connections. When i go to the mall again i gonna check it out.
