Hi guys I dont know anything about vehicles, the only thing I know is to drive it.I have a serious problem I don't really know what to do.I own a Ford ranger 5 years old,the problem with it is that the water bottle has a mayo/sludge inside it,the car it's grinding as it iddling so I decided to take it to the garage and they suspected water pump, oil cooler and top gasket, now the problem is that the car is not drivable .they're saying I need to buy a new engine so can you advise on what could be the problem with my car.they fitted a new water pump, skeemed the gasket but still the engine pushes everything to the water bottle.

Top gasket went most likely. so oil is forced into your water system, hence the mayo.

There is this people who sell jap engines. In welkom is omega motor spares and there is also a place in Vereeniging. You can also ask taxi's where they buy those engines.

Because you say top gasket went most likely .is there something that can be done to stop oil from being forced to the water system?

You don't skim the gasket, it's the top that is skimmed and a new gasket fitted, the garage that you sent it to probably did not do a good job, get a second opinion somewhere before buying an engine.

If its a aluminium block you might wanna skim that as well

There could possibly also be a crack in the head which is causing the oil to be pushed into the cooling vanes of the casing.

Not sure if the ranger has it but if there is cooling to the turbo then oil and coolant could also possibly mix.
