Ok, I see there is a sticky for routers, buts its massive to read through. So please spare forgive me if I ask something that's been dealt with many times before on the forum.

I'm all new to this. I have a Vodacom ZTE K3772-Z 3G USB modem (connected with the 3GB mofaya contract) and would like to connect this to a WIFI router. I would like to connect my android phone and my laptop to the WIFI for internet usage. So hopefully both Android phone and Windows 7 Starter laptop should be compatible?

Any recomendations for routers in RSA that is compatible with this modem? Or cheap Chines routers available online?
Other than the router and a powercable, what else would one need? Is the router standalone, or does it need to connect to a PC first? (Which would be a pain)

Thanks. All help will be wellcome.

I really like the tp-link routers because they have been good to me and very good value.
I dont have adsl only 3g though.

Have a look at dbg.co.za

Are you sure the K3772-Z modem is compatible with TP-Link routers?

Apologies, I misread the model number quoted by the OP.

That one AFAIK is not compatible but perhaps a bin file can be created with the bin file tool. I managed a bin file for K3770 a while back.

The K3772-Z seems to be a troublesome modem. Vodafone even have a special version of their VMB software just for this modem.
