HELP !! ! ! ! Sony Z3 reset

Guys, my son forgot what password pattern he used and I tried everything to bypass this.

I tried going into recovery mode where I would need to press the up/down vol button repeatedly but even that doesn't work.

I need this phone reset/recovered urgently ! !

Any tips/advice will be much appreciated.

Tried everything !

When I power on the phone no LED light comes on but I try pressing the vol buttons anyway, but goes straight to OS startup.

when I try to explore the phone, its blank.

The phone is totally locked until I put in the unlock pattern.

Maybe the phone has gone into some protection mode after too many failed logins? Try the recovery again after an hour or two.

It has a remote Erase option. BUT I don't know what it does - does it brick the phone?

That's a soft reset only.

Hmm, I've done a hard reset once but I remember that the volume up/down direction was reversed VS what I'd read on the internet. I assume you've tried both already?

hehe, yeah ... tried everything ... my last resort .. going hypnotize the little one and make him remember the pattern

Can you take it into a cellphone shop? Surely somebody in one of the repair departments should know the reset procedure?

I can't believe that NONE of the above options work.

After hours and hours of struggling, I made my son sit in a corner and never to leave until he gets it right.

And to my delight, he did figure it out ! !
