help sparky out....

Well R8500 for that rig is laughable....I don't think I paid nearly that for mine. He would be lucky to get R4K for that. I don't think I would offer him more than R3K

If I walked into PC int today with R8500 I could get a monster machine that would make that machine look like a 386. :D

Edit - Cost price on that "High Spec" rig is R4900.

that looks exactly like the one from Matrix computers (their "gaming" rig), and they sell it for R8.5k. However, it does have a nice cpu, but I'm guessing the mobo is only of the R500-R700 specials and won't overclock or shyte... but with that graphics card i would be surprised if it runs crysis

The only decent thing on that brick is the CPU - The rest you would need to replace.

Throw in a Fender Precision/Jazz bass and I'll take the machine :D

- Proline 350W Case (Black & Silver) - R2-300
- MSI Mother Board (1333FSB) - R3-400
- MSI Nvidia NX8600GT Graphics Card with 512MB DDR2 - R500
- Intel Core2Due 3GHz CPU - R1500
- Apacer 2048MB DDRII6400 800MHz RAM - R4-500
- 2x Western Digital RAID HDD, 7200RPM, 320GB = Total of 640GB Hard disk space - R900-1000
- LG CD/DVD Writer - R250
- Sony Stiffy Drive - R100

= best price if split R4500. However since people pay lower prices for entire systems than for components you'd probably get R3500-R4000 for the whole thing.

Hey Sparky, I'm sure you will sell this machine soon. Just lower the price a bit though. Just remember PC hardware depreciates the moment you switch the PC on. In fact, if you buy a new PC from say IC at say R8500 brand new. You take it home, switch it on, use it for couple of days, and decide u want to sell: You must cut the price by 1/2 or 1/3 immediately as the value is related to second hand stuff, that's a fact dude./

Yup! Technology does not stand still!:D

PC's lose about 1/2 their value in the first 6 months, about 1/3 every 6 months after.
