help with a budget TV

Hi
Do you perhaps know if the tv have low input lag for consoles?
I've seen a rtratings video stating that the Samsung uhd tv's were great for consoles as their input lag is low

It is pretty difficult to get proper input lag reviews for the hisense TVs. From what I've seen, game mode is in the 30ms range for 1080p. For 4K gaming, it could be in the 30ms range, or it could be just under 50ms according to one review I've seen.

I rather went for a Samsung, just to be on the safe side.

Ok, only a single issue, which really does not bother me.

There are compression artifacts and some banding when watching Bates Motel. That's the only show where I noticed it. Odd.
Source? As I've noticed cartoons are fine on the TV but other things eish

I bought my Sinotech 55" Smart UHD from Game about 18 months ago for R5950. It was at the time a fair bit more but I found an advert online for this telly at Pick n Pay Amazimtoti for a very good 1 day only price. I printed the advert out and went to my local Game in Somerset West.
The manager phoned them up and asked about the price, they said yes it is on special so Game had to honour their policy and gave me a further 10% discount (I think) and in the end I am very very happy with my purchase for R5950.

Watching Bates Motel on Netflix, it's the only show where I experience a little bit of banding in dark scenes.

Otherwise I'm more than happy with it. I don't have it next to a Samsung FHD LED, so I can't compare :D

Very odd that it's only that on Netflix. I would've assumed they use the same encoders for their series.

I'm watching Narcos as well, it's also fairly 'dark' (if that makes any sense), and I don't have that issues. Indeed odd.

Very strange, I'd love to know what codec they use for Netflix and what transcoders they use cause it should all be uniform.
