Help with dual screen setup on HD 7850 GPU

I currently have a dual screen setup with an el cheapo graphics card and I am considering upgrading to the HD 7850 GPU. The card has 1 DVI, 1 HDMI and 2 mini displayports.
The problem is my monitors only have VGA outputs. I do have 1 VGA to DVI adapter, which will work fine on the 1 screen but how do I connect the second screen?
I’m thinking a VGA to DVI adapterconnected to a DVI to HDMI adapter.

Will this work? The VGA straight to HDMI adapters are around R600 which is too expensive. You do get a VGA to mini displayport from Kalahari at R329. I could use my ebucks for that but their delivery time of 8 days is a bit long so that will be my last resort.

So again, would VGA to DVI to HDMI to 7850 work?

You cannot convert HDMI (digital only) -> DVI (digital + analog) -> VGA (analog only), unless you have active converters (with Digital to Analog / Analog to Digital converters) which are pretty expensive.

I'd say get the mini-display port adapter or ditch your VGA screens.

Well, no use in testing then.

I'd also say get the display port thing as they seem to be getting more popular.

Yep, that seems to be the best option.
You can pick up a mini-display port to VGA passive converter from R150~R300 ... Just go to a Mac store or Incredible connection and ask them for it.

i actually found my govan mani to have the cheapest converters, 100 to 150 for mini to X adaptors
