Hi everyone,

I never really had to work with excel so i am stuck with what seems like a basic function.

I want the sum of 2 fields to be added.

So i did, =A1+B1, but i need it for every row...so typing =A2+B2 and =A3+B3 for every row is going to take me forever.

I also need a function to take a value from a previous line, for example: B1 need to be equal to A3, and C1 needs to be equal to B3...

Hope it make sense.
how do i get it done?

Thanks
Bar1.

cOPY THE RESULT OF a1+b1. Then select the whole column you're referring to. Right click and paste. Let me know if it works

when you highlight the first sum you made there is a little block bottom left, mouse over that and drag in the right direction.
Same goes for the other function (just make sum=B1 or whatever).

When copying a cell with a formula and pasting it in a new cell the formula is automatically adjusted,so pasting =a1+b1 into the second row will adjust it to a2+b2 ;) Similarly copying it to another colum adjusts is to b1+c1 c1+d1 etc

So you can ctrl-c,select entire row,ctrl-v

Your second line didn't make much sense if I use the first's values sorry

Thanks, all make sense now and working...
and i was trying stuff like a1=a1+1
lol
