HELP with GPU:)

not so sure it's the way to go for someone who just wants their PC to work without issues.

Even for enthusiasts, it's a downright pain in some scenarios. I know of a few people who have a Xfire setup and they typically wait a month or two to play their games because of driver issues and lack of Crossfire profiles. SLI is a little better in this regard (especially with game support and micro-stuttering), but it's still not up to the level it should be.

A quick question on the topic.

I want to get the Wootware HD7950 with Crysis 3 and Bioshock, but I have a 480W PS. The min is 500W.

Will the lack of 20W really make a difference to this? Currently have a Nvidia 9800GT in that PC.

It depends on the power supply. If it's it's Antec or Corsair or XFX or Seasonic or Zalman it should be fine.

Most other brands probably won't be ok. Also the older it is, the more of a chance you'll be taking.

I wouldn't risk a standard 480w PSU with a 7950.

Damn, its a Superchannel no-name brand thingy. Will have to go with a GTX650ti instead. It's my son's PC so not too critical.

EDIT: Or a GTX660 might be a better idea :)

Thanks for the feedback
